Running with tonsillitis

Hi everybody! On sunday night I was really sick. I got a pink eye with a bacterial infection and I became sick with fever and pain on my whole body. I couldn't go to school the next morning but in the afternoon I felt a little better and I had to go to cross country time trials to make the team (I made it!). Of course, after running I was really bad but it was my last chance to get in. I slept almost the whole afternoon until today. I didn't go to school because I was at the doctor. She told me I have a little of tonsilitis and put me an inyection with antibiotics. Tomorrow I have my first meet. I really want to go and I think I'm going to feel better. After this meet I will take 5 days off running. Should I run the race? Help!!!

I can't think of any good reason not to run with tonsillitis. I ran a half marathon earlier this year with a head cold and a 5K with a chest cold, though, so I might not be the best judge.
It might aggravate your throat if your breathing is deep enough to affect it but it's not going to do any damage. Did you ask the doctor about it, though?

I also read it as running with tortillas. I was going to say yes running with tortillas sounds awesome
Tonsillitis- not so much.
Op see how you feel tomorrow but I'm going to recommend rest instead of running.

I'd do it. but then again I've done skating competitions with the stomach flu, strep throat, most recently a broken toe. So I'm not the best example of looking after yourself but if you've been on anti biotics you should be feeling better by the meet0

Oh God stomach flu? You,'re really strong. When I get stomach flu I spend all my time in bed or in the bathroom. There's usually a lot of whimpering and crying and ginger ale involved.
OP I think you can do it but if you can rest then rest. Let your body heal if it needs that unless there's a pressing need to run like a marathon or something you really can't skip. But that's the momma bear in me talking. Go to bed and get some rest! Lol.0
