Needing some guidance...

So I don't know really what I'm doing wrong... Every day I'm staying in the calories this app advises and yet I am gaining weight not losing it. One day I may have dropped some weight but then it's right back...

Weight loss is not linear. The numbers on the scale will go up and down, you need to be looking for a downward trend over a sustained time frame. To do this use an app like trend weight or libra for android.
The above assumes you are accurately counting calories by weighing and measuring your intake and choosing correct database entries.
You may need less calories than MFP suggests. You can personalise your calorie allowance once you have amassed data over a sustained time frame.2 -
