Finished Insanity! Some questions....

Much to my displeasure I have actually completed the Insanity program today. I contemplated quitting a couple times. I am not happy with my results at all and if I attempt this workout again I need to do something different. I feel like I have gained weight and not lost inches. I am starting to think that maybe I was not eating enough in a day but I found it difficult to eat just to eat. Anyway.... now that I have completed it, I have some questions.

1- Due to vacation schedules I think it will be easiest for me to just go back to running for awhile. Is there a certain amount of time I should wait before I attempt this? I will be honest, my legs feel like they weight 100 pounds a piece right now, but that also has to do with the fact I am on them all day at work. I work outside and it is also hot and humid this week. I plan on Turbo Fire once I get back on a regular schedule.

2- If I really was not eating enough in a day, what can I do to jumpstart my metabolism again?? I know people say, "cheat days" but I don't know if I can bring myself to do that.

Thanks!

Did you actually check to see if you gained weight?
    Did you check your measurements?
How many calories did you eat in a day?
Was your intensity high enough for what you were eating?

Without answers to things like that it is really hard to give advice.

'Cheat' days are only useful if they work for you. Practising moderation throughout the week and eating things like bananas, avocados, olive oil, nuts, etc can bring up calories without filling you up unduly.

If you feel it's just not going to work for you, by all means go back to running. I'd personally wait until the muscle soreness diminished greatly and just try to eat well for that duration of time.
