Hello!!!! I'm Amber. I am ready to drop some serious weight. I had my 3rd, and final child on December 17th, 2015. He is now 8 months, and I haven't lost any weight. I drank soda, ate bread every day, ate pasta very often, and if it had sugar and carbs, I was best friends with it. I haven't slept much the last 8 months (He still wakes up every night for a feeding) and I know that's a factor for my weight. Oh, and I ate at 10pm and 11pm most nights. Not great, huh?
I am on day 3 of a healthy life style again. I use to live in the gym, and I was pretty fit. But now I still look pregnant. I'd like to weigh about 139 pounds by my baby's first birthday. I have about 16 weeks, so 3 pounds a week. I am working out 6 days a week, and I am eating clean. I am only 5'5" so I am considered obese. When I drop 9 pounds, I'll just be over weight, and when I drop 39 pounds, I'll be "normal" for BMI. But that 50 pound mark is what I am shooting for. I'll be right in the middle of the "normal" range for my age, height, and weight.
I still cook whatever my family wants and I have my meals prepared in advance. I weigh and measure everything that goes into my mouth. I start with some old fashion oats, and an apple for breakfast, then work out for 30 minutes with Jillian Michaels (she is no joke y'all!) I eat about 6 oz of chicken a day, lots of salad with 2 tablespoons of light dressing, and a handful of protein cereal with 1 cup of 1% fat free milk, and a Luna bar if I feel hungry between meals. I eat fruits and veggies throughout the day, and always veggies with dinner, and I eat the veggies first in case I feel full before I get to them.
I work out in the morning, and I'm active during the day with house work, and going to and from stores throughout the week. I am drinking my weight in water every day! 189 oz of water is crazy!!! 11 bottles of water in the 15 hours that I am awake a day. I'll only need 8 bottles (16.9 oz) when I'm 150 pounds... I can't wait. lol. I am learning to love water again. Every 3rd bottle or so, I put a little 0 calorie flavor in it so I don't get bored.
I might add some fish in the next week or so, but for now I'm sticking with chicken.. and more chicken.. and chicken, and chicken... with chicken.. and chicken. I'll be ok
But I am mixing up the veggies! Squash some nights, cooked carrots, green beans, and no corn. I kinda miss sweet corn, but I can add a little serving of that when I drop a good amount of weight. Until then, it's reading the packages and measuring everything.
I had a trainer a few years ago, and I learned a lot about what to work to see the most results. I'm shooting for a big goal, and I am pretty sure I can do it. I'm not trying to drop 30 pounds in 30 days, but I am trying to do my best to drop as much as I can as soon as I can. I might even start working out 2 times a day, 6 days a week. All depends on how work life goes, and if I can get my husband into the mood of working out with me after he works all day. He might do it! I run a call center from our home, and I stay pretty busy. It's stressful, but I know my health is more important.
Y'all ready to go? Wanna drop this weight? Let's do this!!!!

Hi Amber,
I am with you on the losing the baby weight once and for all mentality! I had my 2nd and final child nearly 2 years ago and it seems with the 2nd child, the weight is just not coming off...I think I've actually gained weight since having her between the running around, unplanned take out, crazy schedules, no time to exercise, comfort eating etc etc. I saw some pictures of myself last weekend and I wanted to die! I've also been very depressed going to the beach and comparing myself to other people. I just want to look in the mirror and be happy instead of wanting to cry. I downloaded My Fitness Pal today and bought a Garmin VivoFit...and I'm ready to start this journey! I have about 30 lbs to lose to be back to my college days (roughtly a size 8, right now I am a 14). I really want to do this and succeed!!! Good luck to both of us mamas!1 -
Girl, we got this! And the beach? NO.... You cannot compare to the people on the beach. You have to worry about the skin you walk around in, and how much you are lifting for no reason. Those people are not looking at you, and they don't care about your skin, or your belly. I still wear a 2 piece because I know no one is going to see me again, and it doesn't matter
Here is what my old trainer did for me, and I'm going to pass it to you. Go to Walmart... Get a 10 pound bag of potatoes. Now get two more. That's 30 pounds right? .. Now put one on each shoulder, and carry the other one up by your chest. Walk around a bit... See how you feel after ten minutes or so. Little tired? Wanna sit down?
Now put them down, and walk around in the same spot. It's a million times better! Anytime you think you want to stop, or eat because you're sad... go get those potatoes! You'll remember, and change your mind.
We have got to do this!!! It's been long enough, and out kids deserve to keep us around for life.0 -
Hi Amber. My goodness. Tell me how you get on. I need someone like you to inspire me. I'm so stuck in a rut, job, life etc - I know that's not your life - but my diet and motivation need help!!!
Can we do this inspiring each other?1 -
Heck yes!!! I'm in it to win it and you need to be too! Your diet is where you are going to win first. You don't have to jump into working out hard, and sweating every day. You do have to wake up one of these days and say "I've had it... I'm going to give up. I give up putting bad stuff in my body. I give accepting food that isn't good for me! I give up treating myself less than what I deserve!"
You have got the grab the water by the horns. You set your goal of water to drink every day... and then do it! First thing is first, get the water. Let me know when you have no soda, no fruit juice, no diet drinks, no shakes, nothing. You can get there, it's a hard step.
We got this! I got the diet down, I need to continue on the workouts! I missed my workout today, but I'm doing it right before dinner tonight. I'm making shrimp tacos.0
