I need help getting passed the guilt of going over my allotted calories even though I'm still under maintenance. I'm set for a 1.5 lb per week loss with 1740 cals a day.If, for example I eat 1900 calories I'm still at a deficit but feel like a failure.Any advice on getting passed it?

Would you be willing to adjust your goals so you have a higher allotment? Then if you stay under the allotted calories it's a bonus.

My advice is that you think hard about how you see food.... food is a necessity, it's a pleasure, it's something we have to have to survive. Yes, many of us eat too much and are overweight, but that's not something to punish yourself for, it's something to deal with - and from what you say you are dealing with it. Calories aren't the enemy, to be reduced to the bare minimum for survival... they are vital to give you energy and strength and keep you healthy.

You could try preplanning your days so it's easier to not go over. But then balancing that with the knowledge that even if you eat 1900 calories you are still losing weight, it just might take a little bit longer.
It's up to you what you choose to do. Oh, and remember that every single number (cals in and cals out) are estimates, so don't get hung up on the tiny details - just do your best to find something that you do stick to long term.
