Got me to thinking......

This joke, although it really isn't that funny...really got me thinking...

{A beggar walked up to a woman who was just about to go into a coffee shop and exclaimed, “Lady, I haven’t eaten in a week.” “Wow!” exclaimed the woman, “I wish I had your will power.}

Here I/we are, obsessing about calories, getting enough protein, lowering those carbs, weighing how much I/we eat, exercising just to "eat more", planning our "treat" meals...and yet there are millions and millions who wish they had our problem.....

I didn't write this to tick anyone off....so if it did, I apologize....but it just really got me thinking and wanted to "put my thoughts out there"....that's all:)

    I think it's good to have such thoughts. Some of us, myself included, have been self-indulgent to the point that we've actually harmed our health, while billions of people don't have enough to eat. I've reformed my thinking that allowed such thoughts as, " I deserve that pie because I've worked so hard today." Mindful eating calls for an awareness not only of what we eat, but also thankfulness for the availability of food for us.

    Very true. First world problems. We have too much, and they have too little.

    If it weren't for First World Problems, there wouldn't be an MFP. . . look through the list of recent forum topics. I really worry about peoples' inability to be grateful instead of complaining.

    Too much or not enough. Either one of them can be deadly!
