I may have days were I have had too many calories but I don't call them "cheat days" or cheat meals" because that implies that I have done something wrong. If I know I am going out to dinner to a nice dinner or a party with a lot of food and drink, I will eat a little less each day and bank my calories.

I don't do "cheat" anything. If I want takeout or beer, I make it fit. If it doesn't fit, I log it anyway and move on.

Cheating implies doing something wrong and that mentality is what makes people fail.

I don't typically use that term, but I pretty much do that every weekend. Not necessarily take away, but with higher calorie foods and more beer/wine. I eat lighter throughout the week so that it doesn't ruin by diet.

I agree with @capaul42 above. Cheating is a mindset that sets you up for failure. I don't have "cheat days." I am not cheating on anything. Every other weekend I eat at maintenance because my Fiance comes out to visit, and I don't log as consistently because we tend to eat out a bit, but I am still mindful of what and how much I am eating. Don't "cheat," work it into your plan. If you want take out and a few drinks, log it as best you can and see how it affects things.

Otherwise, in a few months, you could likely be one of the many people posting a thread going "I DUNNO WHY THE SCALE WON'T MOVE."
