What was the hardest part of your weight loss journey and did you have any setbacks?

The hardest part was (is) unlearning all my misconceptions. Setbacks? I always regained, if that's what you are asking, until I started to seriously unlearn misconceptions.

Setbacks? Ohhh my goodness it was a lot more than setbacks. I had to learn a whole host of things and it was not just food related and I'm not done yet. As a matter of fact, its never done for me!

The hardest part was learning what works for me. It wasn't WW, Jenny Craig, Nutrisystem or some other plan of plans - it was actually meeting with a nutritionist and finding out enough about food, about myself, and about what I was willing to do to be able to lose weight. It was actually going to take "work", I would have to be willing to make some changes to what I was eating.

Setbacks: too many to count over the years. Thing is - we're all human. Humans are fallible - we are going to make mistakes and have setbacks. It's not if but when. Sometimes it's a whopper of a setback, sometimes it isn't. Trick is to not beat yourself up about it and move on as fast as possible.

The biggest thing i struggle with is my food choices. I get so wrapped up in counting carbs and calories i dont eat enough or what I choose is bad. Does anyone have any good resources or websites they could recommend to educate myself more.

Restraining myself from diving into food and eating mindlessly. I am going into week 7. I wouldn't say I've had any major setbacks but I did go on a 3 day vacation during this time where I ate what I wanted and didn't track. The moment I got back I weighed myself, saw that I had gained 1lb and started tracking again that same day. The extra weight was gone within the next 2 days. I try to counter the feelings by making sure I am eating yummy food that I like including Hagen Daz ice cream cones and thinking about how badly I want to look and feel better by losing the extra weight.

If you know your choices are bad, then you already know what choices are good. Or what?

The hardest thing for me to learn was that didn't have to work my kitten off to lose weight. Weight loss is created in the kitchen and exercise is for health.

The biggest struggle for me was limiting myself and counting every calorie I eat, and cutting out starch was also a big struggle, especially rice and potatoes as I would have that every night with supper. Water intake was surprisingly easy and I manage to reach my 8 glasses a day goal or a bit more. But overall the biggest challenge is learning when to tell my body I had ENOUGH. Unlearning my old habits is still a struggle. Also the impatience I have, all I wanna see I are results, it's like it's taking forever to lose even 1kg.
