sugar

I have a sweet tooth.

I was drinking a lot of regular Pepsi but have managed to cut that out.

I now eat a lot of fruit, not too much processed sugar. As a result of all the fruit, my sugar numbers are still high. I do not have a sugar problem or even pre-diabetes. Even when I was drinking 4-6 sodas per day my fasting blood sugar was only around 91

How bad is it that my sugar numbers are still high? I figure they have to be much lower than they were when I was drinking soda like crazy so that has to be an improvement, right?

If you don't have a medical condition where you need to track sugar, I wouldn't worry about it. Great job cutting the soda calories and including more fruit in your diet.

Sugar is sugar. Who gives a *kitten*? Why is everyone worried about sugar? Eat it, track it as a carb, not separately, and stop worrying.

sadly, because it has been fear mongered to death by those trying to make a profile off of others...

I haven't seen anything credible suggesting that high sugar from fruit and veg is a problem. The sugar limits focus on added sugar, for the most part, and are based on the association with excess calories (from the fat in foods with added sugar as much as the sugar itself). Eating so much you go over calories or fail to get adequate protein or healthy fats would be an issue, but beyond that -- barring some medical reason -- I wouldn't worry about it.

I've been eating lots of fruit lately and my sugar is pretty high compared to my usual, and I am just as satiated and if anything feel even better and more energetic with no energy or mood swings.
