This is a question for either a personal trainer, or someone who has been working on their own health and fitness long enough to know what they are talking about.

Until now I've been losing strictly with calorie restriction and some brisk walking, but lately I have hit a plateau in my weight loss (I have lost about 2 lbs over the course of 4 months). I don't really want to restrict more, so I'm going to try to burn through it by increasing my activity instead. I'm not a big fan of gyms (so boring), so I'm looking for things that i can do at home or outdoors. I'm thinking cycling and some HIIT.

My question is, what are some reliable websites that I can use for fitness information; websites with the least amount of bullsh/t mixed in that could trip up someone relatively inexperienced.

First step is to ensure you are being accurate. You can read all the awesome websites in the world, but if you aren't weighing your food you don't really know if you are in a deficit. Most of the time plateaus are a result of eating more calories than you are logging.

The second suggestion you would find in any one of the websites I could point you to is to change exercise. Most are going to suggest resistance training of some sort. You don't HAVE to go to a gym to accomplish resistance training, but I find it gives me the most bang for my buck since I don't have much time to exercise. I'm pretty sure you have several other threads devoted to your hatred of the gym and you were given good suggestions in those. You may also want to consider adding some jogging into your walks to increase intensity.

If you hate the gym, have you tried just upping your NEAT? That will go down as you lose weight. And sometimes being in a deficit just makes us move around less. You could always get a fitbit and try meeting a step goal. Keep the calories the same, increase NEAT...might work. That's what I did to help me maintain a little easier because I don't like cardio.
