Did the Metformin help with weight loss or did you lose through other means?

I attribute my weight loss to calorie restriction and not the metformin. I find that I am less hungry while taking it and it has improved my blood work. I have been taking it almost 6 months now in addition to Lisonopril for blood pressure.

I'm type II but with my weight loss (376 to 239) since Jan 2013 and now doing water aerobics, swimming laps 4X a week and trying to get my 10K steps I'm off all Rx for diabetes except for one Rx.
I check my fasting blood sugar every morning and can see the spikes when I don't eat "right". On good day I'm below 100.
My A1c levels were over 8 now at 5.8.

Hope you take care and take control by any and all means possible.
