Hi everyone, my name is Helen (dharmachic) and I joined this site a little over a month ago and frankly have been amazed that I've been able to track my calories for this long! Tracking calories has always been a weakness for me, although I'm usually pretty good in the exercise part. But I have to say that MFP makes it quite easy as it appeals to the geek part of me by making the updates fun.

I would like to lose about 35-40 pounds, so far down 10 lbs in 2 months (although I started MFP late and so it shows only 4 lbs lost). I love talking about my diet/exercise routines to keep me motivated and a co-worker suggested I start blogging about it since I'm always tweaking my program (can't leave well enough alone!) and seeing what the results are like, like a mad scientist. :)

So I posted my first blog post yesterday and just wanted to get out of lurker status and get involved in the community here. MFP has been great, wonderful database, great encouraging support and no matter what strange term I search for, someone's already posted about it! I hope MFP will remain part of my life for a long time to come.

Thanks!
Helen

    Hi Helen,
Yeah, I don't know if I could do this whole thing without MFP! It has really helped me change my lifestyle and my friends on here are so great. I totally know what you mean about the calorie tracking. I love MFP because it totally takes all the work out of it -I could never really see myself writing down/figuring out all the calories on paper every day.

I know what you mean...I spend what seems like hours in here just to keep myself paying attention to it all....eating, drinking water, exercise, and motivation for sure. I just joined this site 1 1/2 weeks ago and am already down almost 4lbs. I just hope the motivation keeps high as I am full steam ahead right now but goal seems a long way away. Baby steps for sure.

I love our foggy mornings as it keeps it cool until at least midday and don't have to run the air (or pay the bill). I am not looking forward to our hot days that will be coming soon
