I had one bad day yesterday, I broke down and at more than I should have. I blew it big time. I know that I need to get back on it today, I'm really thinking about sending my treadclimber back. I've gained a 1.5 pounds, how is this even possible? Needless to say, I'm exhausted to say the least. I use it daily for an hour. I'm exhausted. This machine cost 2400.00, It cost about 500.00 to ship it back but I know I have 4 more weeks to make up my mind. Maybe it's just using it daily that's wearing me out?

Daily cardio can take a toll on your body no matter the fitness level. Break it up and try to do every other day for a bit. Patience is the best practice. To much of anything can be bad for you.

think about all the cold , wet winter days when you can still go for a walk in the comfort of your home.... don't send it back, just use it regularly. 1.5 pounds could easily be water if you ate a lot of salty food.... its one day. Just start today as a new day and forget about yesterday. you can't change anything about that... just go forward.

Do not blame the machine. It is a good tool.

If you want you can add me as a friend and I ll help you track the discrepancys in your diary down together.

I guess you are either not rigorous enough with your logging or overestimate you cals burned. The latter is a common mistake in my experience. This in turn leads to overeating and weight gain instead of the expected loss.

Are you trying to use it for an hour simply in order to burn more calories?

I'd suggest using it 30-40 minutes 3 times a week. Then 3 times a week do some sort of resistance training. If you don't like lifting weights, a bodyweight circuit (this is good for beginners) is fine. Eat in a reasonable deficit. Based on your profile I'm guessing you have around 30 pounds to lose? If so, making your goal 1 pound a week is reasonable. Log your exercise and then eat the calories. If you don't lose after 4 weeks, lower them a bit (I'd start with 100 calories.)

I do weigh everything that I eat and log it, I log the exercise that the bowflex gives me. I guess I am just exhausted at this point from using it an hour daily. It's rough, I have the resistance set at 3.0 the treadclimber only goes to 4.0. I don't know, I guess I am struggling with the price that I spent and how hard it is to keep up with it daily. My husband bought me this and I told him I was going to use it, which I do, but it gets exhausting. I need to lose 60 pounds. That's my goal. I lost 30 pounds before and I know I can do it again, I did it before without the bowflex. When I do use the bowflex I am sweating profusely, I look like I had gotten right out of a pool. I guess I am just looking for an excuse for the weight gain. I'm frustrated. I had a little bit of cheese cake yesterday, I had no way of weighing it and that's where the downfall began. Thank you for reading this!

I had a stationary bike in perfect condition that I never used. It was one of those bikes with the comfortable seats. I would stub my toe on it. Finally, I decided one day I would end up breaking my foot on the thing, so I ran an ad in the paper and gave the bike away (I really, really wanted the thing out of my house). I got about 40 phone calls. A year later, I could have kicked myself for doing that because I live in an area with icy winters.

Do what you need to do, but don't exhaust and hurt yourself on the way there. You're the only one who can tell if you will use the equipment. If you aren't going to use it, send it back but do something else for exercise.

Could be DOMS from new exercise. If you are weighing and logging correctly and maintaining a reasonable calorie deficit you will lose. Make sure you are drinking plenty of water as well. One bad day of eating could lead to water weight gain (sodium, too many carbs) and this could cause a temporary gain, but get back on track, keep exercising and don't worry about the scale.
