Blender/Food Processor

I know this isn't a recipe, but I wasn't sure were it belonged. In the past I've had a single serving blender (one-speed/button with a travel cup to blend everything in). I've been making more smoothies and sometimes my little one just doesn't get the fruit/ice blended smooth and a piece popped off. I've also seen recipes for black bean brownies, cauliflower alfredo sauce, veggie burgers, and "lara bars" that require a heavy duty blender or food processor. I've seen some at wal-mart, target, and khols, but when I read the reviews online, they are always mixed. I preferably want one less than $100, the closer to $50 the better (I'm a poor college student trying to cook/bake healthy semi-whole foods. What blender/food processor do you have and what's your opinion?

I do understand the college/budget thing but if you can stretch your budget to buy a reconditioned vitamix you will never need to buy another blender again. If you go to starbucks or a juice/smoothie shop on a regular basis and stopped for a bit you could pay for it in pretty short order.

I've heard great things about the vitamix blenders and I'm sure they're a great investment, but I just can't stretch that far. Maybe when I get a full-time "grown-up" job.

Thanks! When I go shopping I'll look into getting a ninja. I've heard they can do almost anything and have read several great reviews.

I use the Nutribullet which I just bought from Walmart a few weeks ago for 98$ (probably cheaper in the USA because everything else seems to be). It is single serving, but comes with 3 cups (2 are smaller than the main one) and it is very powerful. I use it everyday, and I looooove it!

The Ninja Master Prep Professional - Has the motor on top. Best I've ever owned. Mine came with 2 different blades, 4 mixing bases. You can find them now for $55 at major online retailers.
