Make up missed lifting day or not?

My lifting schedule is M, W, F. I didn't gym yesterday, so the last day I lifted was Friday. Should I do any today or just focus on it tomorrow, resuming my normal schedule?

ideally you would make it up and shift your rest days accordingly- a missed workout isn't the end of the world through.

I would lift today, Thursday, Saturday, and then go back to MWF next week.

Either can work but it depends on other factors such as can you fit in the workout and shift a day or just skip. Sometimes I'll shift, sometimes I'll double up and sometimes I'll skip. It all depends on what's going on in my life and I know missing one workout isn't going to make a real difference in the long run.

I never just skip, whether I shift things down a day or double up depends on the exact training cycle and how close to competition I am.

Just do what works best for you in the long run.

Personally if I was on your schedule, I'd probably pop Saturday.

I'd pretty much do a make up day today and shift my routine a day so you'll still get your break days in and be able to start fresh next week. Do you do anything your off days?

This. I typically will move my whole week. But skipping one day happens occasionally and I do nothing...but this isn't the norm for me.

Thanks for all of your input. I do yoga six days a week, 30 minutes of elliptical five days, and weights three. Due to my schedule, I'm unable to shift when I lift to the weekend. I just wasn't sure if it'd be a bad thing to lift today when I'll definitely do it tomorrow.

I don't see the problem of doubling up your lift day or doing two back to back lift days if you're doing a split routine. A full body routine might be a little much. I lift 6 days a week but I'm just used to it.

IMO doing two full body days in a row isn't necessarily going to be a problem. You can push harder on one day than the next. Bret Contreras often programs 4 full body days a week and I've seen other trainers do the same.

It's really relative to your body and how it handles it relative to your goals.

I yoga and lift seven days a week and do some physical activities on top of it because my body recovers well for my goals.

I really wouldn't think anybody would know what's good or bad for your body other than you.
