Check out my food diary!!

I am 5 4 and weigh 137 pounds and working out with a personal trainer 4 days and week, 1hr per session. I am trying to lose 10% body fat (currently 25%). Would you mind taking a look at my food diary and letting me know what you think (calories are higher on workout days). My food diary is public so you should have no trouble viewing it. Thanks in advance :)

  • I can see that you have cut bread, fruit and dairy from your diet. I understand the bread and dairy, but not the fruit. You should be able to have 2 portions of fruit a day and still meet your goals. Is is for digestive reasons? Also, are you eating enough calcium etc. by cutting out dairy?
How about almond / nut milk or nut butters on your crackerbreads etc? Something to liven up the chicken, rice and cauliflower (i like those things but would find them bland together with nothing else!).
I upped my calories from 1200 to 1500 recently as felt was eating too few when I work out - struggling to make them up, but getting there!

Hi Sadiedrake. Thanks a million for taking the time to have a look at my food diary. Fruit has been cut just until I reach my goal of 15% body fat on the advice of my trainer. I know there are some that feel that all nutritional advice should be taken from dietician only but I am already starting to see results and really trust my trainer. I really don't mind the fact that my foods are a bit bland. In fact, I like the simplicity of what I am eating. I am finding it very difficult to eat the amount of calories I need every day though. I just don't feel like I need them. My body seems to run really well on about 1100 - 1200 calories per day.
  • I understand where you are coming from; when you trust someone and what they are telling you is working. I have really struggled upping my calories from 1200 to 1500. But it does seem to be working and my weight is dropping.
Maybe add some eggs / omelette to breakfast and even some chicken/steak (if you want to keep your protein high). Other than that, I think others have suggested Almond milks etc on your other post.
