Do you automatically discredit the opinion of those posters in the slammer?

I use to think you would be guaranteed to be caged if you had a high post count since so many people in cages had a high post count. So on one hand, they had a high post count so I should listen to them, but on the other, they were caged so I shouldn't?

My old account had a high post count. I just never actually got mad before.

Yeahhh she made her angry. You wouldn't like her when she's angry...

Based on this logic...you probably get all your facts from Wikipedia, your news from social media, and your medical advice from WebMD.

Don't forget, my health advice from the forums.

well there is a lot of great advice here actually, but only those who have over 10k posts.

I was just thinking the exact same thing.

It's ok. Your argument was that she was smarter than you anyway. Point proven.

A lot of people get caged because good advice is often offensive to noobs because it goes against the myriad of woo they have brought with them to the table.

That's not really fair because it doesn't take into account how long someone might have been here kickin' *kitten*.

Anyone else find themselves paying more attention to people's advice that have a large number of post counts?

No.... someone who frequently posts could easily be a serial poster, and doesn't know what the heck that they're talking about.

Post count initially gives me an idea of what posters might have been around awhile, hopefully meaning they've learned a thing or two. But it also means they're on the forum a lot, and I can figure out pretty quickly who knows their *babysloth* and who doesn't.

Sometimes I think I should work harder to get myself over 1000 so people take me a *little* more seriously, but serial posting would ruin my post-to-Awesome ratio. #theimportantthings
