What is mass and lean mass and what do people mean by lean and bulk

    Do you mean Fat mass and lean mass? Lean mass (LBM- lean body mass) is the amount of muscle a person has.

    Bulk is where you lift weights, eat in a surplus of calories to build muscle.

    Lean is where you lift weights, eat in a calorie deficit to lose fat and maintain muscle.

    Lean body mass is the mass of your body minus the fat (it's not just muscle, it's everything that's not fat).

    Not sure what you mean by "lean and bulk" though?
    Lean just means not fat.

    Bulking is as stated above, eating in a calorie surplus so gaining weight while training to increase muscle mass.
    Opposite of bulk is cut - training in a calorie deficit to lose surplus fat and preserve muscle.

    There's different styles of bulking from fast (a.k.a dirty) which inevitably leads to a lot of fat gain as well.
    Or more popular amongst people looking for aesthetic results - clean bulking (nothing to do with clean foods!) bulks, slower with less fat gained.

    You lose fat all over your body - genetics will determine where from first and last.
