If you could make your diary public it would easier to offer advice.
Do you eat back those 400 burned cals? How long have you been at this?0 -
Hi,
How many carbs are you having? Carbs for me, are the anti christ! If I go much over 30g of carbs in a day...I will gain too. Carbohydrates turn to sugar in our bodies causing an insulin surge which makes us hungry again. I keep my carbs around 30g a day, or I will have a gain too. I exercise every day for 60-90 minutes in the pool at our gym. It's very frustrating. I stalled for 2 mos last year, due to carbohydrates. That was when I learned that they can kill your diet plan. Try cutting them way back..pay very close attention to how many you consume in a day and see if that will help you. It's worth a shot, but be advised it's very hard to do. Carbs are everywhere, even in fruit and veggies. Eat high protein, low carb and see if that will help you. I have had weight loss surgery so my diet consists mostly of protein. You need 60-90g a day of protein. (Things like chicken, red meat, fish, pork, cheese, eggs) Let me know if you try this, whether it works or not. Best of luck!!

Carbs do not cause insulin spikes when eaten in a meal with protein, and when you're not eating them in a fasted state. OP, please do not cut back your carbs, it is not necessary. If you do, you will not have nearly as much energy and it will kill your workouts. Also, that is an arbitrary protein number, protein intake should be based on your body weight.0 -
I say you should make a doctor's appointment and make sure your thyroid and everything else is ok. I know my thyroid stopped working correctly when I became pregnant years ago and take synthroid. I also have low vitamin D levels that will effect my energy and therefore my weight.0

Are you eating back the calories you'veburned? Also, how long have you been at 1200 calories? The same thing happened to me, but it was because I had been yo-yoing for so long that I had metabolic damage.
A got a lot of advise about upping calories to what the BMR calculator said my body needs to maintain. It will cause a slight weight gain at first, but it re-sets your metabolism. Once you stop gaining (can take 3-8 weeks or more.) then you can go back to a lower calorie amount to lose weight.
Research metabolic damage before you make a doctors appointment.0 -
I stalled as well for awhile and found that it was a combination of the two things. I was a) not eating enough AND b) eating WAY too many carbs. I was eating 1500 calories and doing 700-1000 calorie burns at the gym and not eating back my calories and I was eating about 300 grams of carbs a day.
Now after plateauing for a while, I am finally seeing changes as I have changed the way I am eating again and have upped my calories to be 1500-1900 a day depending on how much I exercise. These are also my numbers for my BMR (comatose state) and TDEE (total daily energy expenditure) minus 20% for weight loss. I have lowered my carb intake, but not to 30 grams like one of the people above me posted. I would fall off the wagon altogether if I didn't have some carbs in my life. Instead, I am limiting myself to 130-180 grams of carbs a day. Also, I set my macros at 40/30/30 (carbs/protein/fat) which is known for being an excellent fat burner combination. I am limiting my sugar since those are carbs and the wrong ones you want to be ingesting. I've been doing this for the past two weeks and have already to see a change and it feel great to get the scale and tape measure moving again Also, if you are going to up you calories, I would slowly move it up week by week to your TDEE if you choose this method because you need to slowly adjust your body back to eating more calories so it doesn't just store it or bloat.
I hope this all helps0 -

Accept my friend request and ill review your journal. Ignore the post about about carbs. Unless you're on a Keto diet and have a lot of support you will gain more weight from low carb diets. The reason is because you suddenly get a HUGE craving for food. What you have to understand is weight loss needs be measured in body % rather then weight on a scale. I can go up a few pounds on the scale and be down 2 inches on my waist.
Over time your body adapts but ill write a huge post for you once i see your journal0 -
