How many steps in a zumba class?

Always wondered how many steps we do in a zumba class......

Well my Garmin Active watch has just told me....
16,055!

    While totally possible, it could be tracking your hand movements as well.

    I have never done Zumba myself but I have seen the classes and there's plenty of hand movement so I would think that counts some of it.

    My Fitbit counted steps for me even while I was completely seated. I'm a hand talker.

    Yep. I've never taken a Zumba class but I've taken similar dance-based type fitness classes and my Fitbit One (which is worn clipped to the torso instead of on the arm) generally only registers half that at most.

    16,000 steps is about 8 miles for me, and I am pretty confident that I don't get nearly as many steps in an hour's class as I would in over an hour's running, personally.

    I have made my step goal scratching. Truly a great feeling.
