Just recently started incorporating the tabata principle to my workouts and it's alot tougher than it sounds. I just wanted to see if anyone has had success in shredding and trimming whilst using or applying tabata?

There's TRUE Tabata and then there's HIIT. 99% of the people that claim to do Tabata, aren't. They're doing HIIT. Not many people realize what 100% effort is. If you ran a foot race sprinting for your best time, that's 100%. And I can guarantee you people aren't doing that for 8 rounds and recovering in 10 seconds to do it again.
Most people's attempts at Tabata are 65%-80% effort at most and that's in the HIIT range.
Sounds like semantics, but the reality is Tabata protocol is WAY WAY tougher than most people think it is.
That's NOT to say that doing HIIT isn't hard, it's just not Tabata protocol.

I understand the protocol and I would say I personally feel like I'm doing 95-100%. For example, I applied the method to stationary bike yesterday and by the time I was done, I couldn't stand without my legs going rubber on me. Took me a minute to gain my balance and strength.
