I've increased the amount of exercise that I have been doing this month and added in a lot of weight training and this month my period which usually lasts 5-7 days was only 2 days. (There is no way I'm pregnant; haven't had sex) does anyone know if this is something that is common when you exercise more and loose a lot of weight? (12 lbs lost this month) or should I be concerned?

It is not unusual for weight loss to affect the length of your period.2

Mine reduced in duration when I started to exercise more too.
that's a lot of weight to lose in a month too so could be partly why it has reduced so extremely. I went from about 5-7 days to 3-4. not 2.0 -
I agree that it can happen with changes to your weight & heavy exercise. Also, your period can change over time. For instance, mine used to be 2-3 days & now it's 4. (Lucky me!) However, like with any major change in your body, it's never a bad idea to bring up with your doctor just as a double-check if it continues.0

Obviously not pregnant if you got your period....
Anyway, yes-exercise and calories messes with mine.2 -
Normal. Mine decreased in flow and length thankfully. Maybe one day I'll even feel like I'm not dealing with a murder scene.0

Sometimes athletes lose their periods completely. It's perfectly normal (and actually I appreciate the break...)

I haven't had mine since July. Wondering where that thing went.0

Actually, you can have vaginal bleeding during pregnancy with intermittent bleeding that seems like a regular period.2 -
I'm the opposite ... the more I exercise, the more frequent and longer and heavier my periods become.0

I think this is completely normal. You have increased the volume and perhaps intensity of your exercising and added in "a lot of strength training" (per your OP).. I am not sure to what degree this increase of exercise is this month as apposed to last month, but overtraining is a thing. And add that on top of eating in a deficit, it is what I call added stress on top of stress you are putting on your body.
Unless you are deeply concerned, you have side effects other than shorter duration periods, I would not worry. Just keep and eye on your cycles, take note if you feel any side effects that are not in line with what you are doing. Always pay attention to the bodies signals. Otherwise keep going. Make sure you are giving your body adequate rest to recover from your work outs.1
