I've lost like 2 stone and im liking the way I look but realised that I still have a massive lack of respect for myself. I've had low self esteem since I was little and started to give a crap and I have no idea how to change my way of thinking. Does anyone have any good advice other than...just like yourself? Because it's easier than done.

I really find that positive affirmations have really helped me be more accepting of myself. At first you feel like an idiot and as though you're just lying to yourself but eventually you start to believe them.

I still struggle with this in ways, but one of the things that's helped me feel better about my body has been lifting. It's hard not to respect my body when I see what it can do. Don't get me wrong, I love the aesthetic aspect too, but it's become more about what my body can do than how it looks - and the eating to fuel that kinda follows naturally, which then impacts the way my body looks. It can be anything really that shifts the focus from "I'm doing this to lose weight" to "holy *kitten* look at the amazing thing I can do." It was just lifting for me. As for the truly liking yourself deep down stuff.. I'm still working on figuring that out too. I'll just end with a quote that really shook me when I first read it - and still gets me now - because it was such a simple but totally foreign idea.. "and I said to my body. softly. 'i want to be your friend.' it took a long breath. and replied, 'i have been waiting my whole life for this.'"
