Tips for how to get sleeping back to regular night's sleep?

The past few days I have been waking up around 4 am, and have a tough time going back to sleep. I manage it, but then wake up about every 15 minutes. This is not normal for me. Does anyone have any tips? I was thinking about taking melatonin for a few days but I'm not sure if it's ok to take with birth control.

Are you stress out ? How old are you? Your body goes through s change and will mess your sleep up, I was getting up every night at 3 and can't get back to sleep till 4:30 and I have to get up st 5:30: turns out to be it was our mattress . We got the sleep number bed and omg I been sleeping like a baby.maybe you can do a workout in the evening . Sometimes that tired a person and relax them or go to bed an hour later then usual or what I do sometimes is night time sleepy tea , decaffeinated that will help you relax and sleep0

My sleeping habits have been crap since high school. Probably my Junior year, I started having insomnia, and it's never stopped. The one thing that's helped is exercising early in the mornings. I know get up at 5am, drink a pre-workout, and start my workout by 5:30am and continue until 7am. Then I get ready for work. At night now, I take a melatonin tablet around 8:30pm and usually can't keep my eyes open past about 9:30 during the week (this never worked before the exercise). So the combination of the two things, melatonin and exercise seem to have fixed it for the most part. Sometimes I still have issues getting to sleep before 11 but it's maybe a 1x per week thing, and usually its when I am busy doing something and can't get to bed early enough. On the weekends I skip the melatonin and let my body do whatever it wants (which is stay up later), but I also sleep in and work out later in the mornings. /shrug. It seems to work on a regular basis. If you're going to be up at 4 or 5am my suggestion is get a workout in.0

IF your awake at 4 get up and do something productive with your extra time.. Just cause its dark out, doesnt mean you have to sleep0

Every once in awhile I get into a weird sleep cycle...I rarely take them, but I'm prescribed a tranquilizer for anxiety as well as sleep issues...they are a narcotic so, like I said, I don't take them with any kind of regularity, but I will take them before bed for a couple of nights if I'm getting into one of those weird sleep patterns just to set me straight.
You might also just want to look into something like melatonin...sometimes that's all I need if I'm not having anxiety issues.0 -
Not sure if the below link is fact or not. Recommend you ask your Dr about taking Melatonin.
