I know I'll get varying opinions, but... favorite macro calculator? I'm transitioning to counting solely macros and not calories. I know I'll have to tweak, but I don't like the MFP calculator all that much, so I'm crowdsourcing favorite alternative options.

How are you going to count macros without counting calories? Are you going to leave out one of the three macronutrients that together make up calories? Does that even make any sense?

I'm not going to count calories. That's not to say I'm going to eat 3-4,000 calories every day, but my focus is on meeting macros. I've been doing a modified version of this for the last 3 weeks - meaning I've been counting calories while working towards meeting the macro goals and getting used to eating (a LOT) more.

I realize not counting calories may not be a popular opinion around here, but I've seen the scale move down 4lbs and my clothes are looser since focusing more on eating enough protein/carbs/healthy fat and accepting that its okay to eat whole grain penne pasta instead of zucchini noodles with my spaghetti.

It's worth noting that I'm extremely active. I have a desk job, but I'm powerlifting 4x a week, teach barre and HIIT classes at least 4x a week, and get in at least 3-4 barre classes as well. I only have another 15-20lbs to lose, so at this point, it's more about aesthetics.

Since eating more protein and carbs, my lifts have improved week over week. Monday's concentric squats improved to 140x5 over last Monday's 135x3, for example.

Proteins and carbs are each 4 cal per gram. Fat is 9 cal per gram. So if you count macros you are counting calories essentially

    Edit: example
    130g prot + 150g carb + 60g fat = 1660 cal :)

You want to focus on macros & not notice the calories. The responders are saying macros add up to calories. Both are correct. :)

But what does it matter? You just want a macro calculator so...

Here's a calculator I found. I don't use their products, but their calculator takes more into account than MFP.
