Only eating twice a day

I work in an industry where I rarely get to eat at work. I try to get a good breakfast and a green smoothie in before work but I don't end up eating anything else until I get home(6-8 hours later). I don't pig out once I get home tho. Will this effect my weight loss? Will I stop losing by eating like this?

I eat twice a day, it works for my schedule and the way I like to eat. Haven't noticed any problems, and I'm down 100 lbs. Best wishes!

Absolutely no problem. In fact, some people do intermittent fasting and purposefully only eat 1 or 2 meals a day (leangains is probably the most popular, http://www.leangains.com/, and some popular YouTubers like the Hodge Twins have done it).

I find that it helps me. I've done both the six meals a day and the intermittent fasting leangains (16 hours of fasting, 8 hours of feeding window, basically just skipping breakfast and not eating after 8pm) and it works fine for me. I find the intermittent fasting is much easier to manage, although I'm not 100% strict with it.

Agreeing with all this! This was one of my most effective methods, even though you may be eating a large portion, as long as you are routinely eating around the same amount around the same time and exercise, it shouldn't effect you!

I do well with one big meal and one snack a few hours later.

If you think about it logically as long as your body does not have enough calories going in (i.e.. food) to sustain the energy it is using (i.e. biological processes plus exercise/ movement) then your body can't store anything- there is nothing to store. It has to make up the energy deficit from body tissue/ fat- which is what we want (to lose weight).

Eating times have nothing to do with this equation.

Anecdotally- for the past 30 years my husband has eaten once a day- occasionally once every two days- and then it's loads. He works a manual job and has maintained his muscular frame. (He only gains weight when he pounds the beers- lol!)

Research is showing that there are lots of health benefits to intermittent fasting , when we give our bodies a break from digesting and dealing with the raise in blood sugars etc. (I don't do quotes - so feel free to ignore this)
