For a birthday, would it be better to have instead of mystery cake, with icing, some shredded wheat cereal frosted with 1% milk but like 4 servings which with each servings comes along with it 11 grams of sugar, and 6 g of fiber unlike cake. The milk has 2.3 grams of fat per cup and 1.5 grams of sat fat. 190 calories dry per cereal serving, or some bread with some butter, toasted, it contains 120 calories per serving, 1.5 g fat per serving, 2g sugar per serving but like 4 grams of fiber per slice, and for each slice of toasted bread, i personally use 1 teaspoon rounded of butter per slice, which carries 20 calories and 2 grams of fat for each teaspoon, 0.5 grams of saturated fat per serving.
Yes i know, a birthday is a day for splurging for some but basically, would it be more nutritious to eat bread or the cereal. Because most store bought or store-ordered cakes have trans fat PLUS, the high sugar with no fiber. And ice cream is just cold liquid encouragement to me that doesn't fill one up unless you drink/consume a whole gallon along with the ton of fat and sugar that comes along with it. Which is better in your own opinions, I welcome many inputs/feedback so please comment as you wish.

Well, if it's your birthday you only celebrate one day per year. If you really like cake I would go for the cake because the one day is less than .01% of the year. If you're eating lean protein, fruits, and vegetables the rest of the year you won't be damaging your body with a serving of cake, except if you have a medical condition.

Google mug cakes and make yourself a single serving of a heavenly cake. You can even go low sugar / low carb / high fibre if you want. When I had gestational diabetes they were the best start to the day to make me feel less deprived but keep my sugars low enough to not end up on insulin.

I have never liked cake, but honestly, treat yourself to something you enjoy! Enjoy the hell out of it and move on. (For my birthday when it comes, I will eat a small stack of donuts ;) )

Eat whatever you'd enjoy the most. It's one day. In the grand scheme of things, it won't matter.

I'm a weirdo. I'd rather splurge on a lot of breakfast cereal in milk than cake. It has nothing to do with nutrition. I'm just crazy about the stuff.

You could pick something that you like to eat -- that might not be cake or ice cream.
    Something else you do like.

A piece of toast with butter is not a birthday treat to me, it's everyday food - but I guess whatever turns you on.

Sounds like this is just an individual treat for yourself - ie not for a birthday party - so just have a small treat of whatever you really enjoy.

The 'cant stop once I start' problem wont apply if you make a single serve mug cake or buy a slice of pre-made cake in a cafe or whatever.

    Dont over think it.

If you want cake...then get someone to go to a quality bakery using quality/whole ingredients! If you go to the grocery store - you end up with a gross cake. Get a quality one and call it a day.

    Happy Birthday!

Have a small piece of cake and maybe even a bit of ice cream. Just be quiet about your choice to eat less, if the piece they give you is too big, don't be afraid to throw some in the garbage.

Which is better depends on what your goals are.

One of my goals is to enjoy life, and so when we celebrate my niece's birthday soon, I'm gonna eat a big slice of cake with ice cream and I will enjoy the kitten out of it. (Actually, probably quite literally enjoying the "kitten" since I'm going to make the cake and decorate it with a Hello Kitty theme).

Sure, I can't do that every day without compromising other goals of mine, but it would be a sad life indeed if I never had special occasions.

But in all seriousness the better choice is the one that strikes the right balance between what you like and hitting your goals for the day. What you like is up to you. Your goals are up to you. No one can answer these questions for you. It's entirely subjective. This retroactively applies to all of your previous ridiculous posts. (and proactively applies to all future ones.)

Yes the back history to this thread does make, umm, interesting reading. :o

OP, stop over thinking everything and just eat whatever you want within your calorie goals and the context of an overall reasonably balanced diet.
Including the occaisonal special event day that isnt very balanced and isnt within calorie goal.

all i ask is a opinion plz jeez.

You quoted my post to say that??

Yes I gave my opinion - based on what you asked in this and your other threads.

No i did not watch the video - If you have something to say, use your words, not link to videos - but anyway, that doesnt change what I said about finding a way to have a single piece without the opportunity to not stop if that is a problem.

Or not, if you dont want to.

have a piece of toast with a candle on it, if you prefer.

I would choose the cake on my birthday. I had cheesecake on my birthday this year. I did not eat a whole cheese cake in one day. I had regular food too, logged and met my goals for the day.

If I wasn't going to eat cake I would not choose cereal or toast as the alternative. I would choose a more special food... maybe a fruit and yogurt parfait or chocolate covered strawberries.

I'm unclear why you keep posting these bizarre choice threads

Is it to see who will keep biting?
