Very underweight but huge thighs?

Hi,
I am quite underweight - I currently weight 43kg and am around 5ft2.
I don't know why but I have huge thighs. I have attached a picture for reference. In this picture, the inner half of each thigh is literally just fat. This has been the case for a long time.
I tend to eat only two meals (breakfast and dinner) and a packet of crisps or a couple of chocolate bars a day. I do weights at the gym once every three days and have started getting into the habit of doing daily squats. What else can I do?
ETA: If I lift my thighs up, they would only be half the size.

There is no scale for reference but your thighs look pretty normal to me. Flesh at rest.10

Your thighs aren't huge. You're also laying down there, resting. Flesh flattens out a bit when you do that.
If you continue to have body image issues like this, you might want to see someone for some help about it.28 -
Embrace your thighs. Can't change genetics.. If you do not need to lose anymore weight then keep strength training them.
Perhaps you have been looking at them too much cause they look quite fine to me!

Those aren't huge. Sorry.13
-
can you give a measurement of how 'huge' they are??3
-
You are about 7 lbs underweight for your height.
Your thighs look slender to me. My thighs are 18" around and look about like that sitting. They are not huge thighs.
Possibly you do not see your body accurately. Have you taken measurements? Why do you think it is all fat on your inner thighs?
People of similar height and weight can have different thigh measurements. http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/643554/womens-average-thigh-and-calf-size-whats-yours/p1
I think the issue is mental not physical.3 -

Unfortunately I don't have tape on me to make measurements but I know it's fat because if I lift my leg up, each thigh is half the size it is in the picture.
I'm wondering if I have not taken the best photo because I have honestly never seen anyone of my size with thighs like that...0 -

Then you need to get out more.

Well, the at rest flesh and muscle from the back of your thighs is being pushed forward by lying/sitting down. They look like small thighs to me but there's no perspective here, like seeing you stood up with the rest of your body in shot too.
I strongly suspect this is dysmorphia.8 -

If you don't like them stop looking at them and cover them up! Like grandma used to say, "if it hurts when you do that, stop doing that".
Dysmorphia is a real thing.6 -
Okay well thanks to those of you who tried to help.0

Yeap, that^^^0

People store fat differently. Your thights look pretty normal to me.
If they are way larger than your upper body, it can be a question of hormonal imbalance. Get a check-up on your hormones just be be sure.
If everything is normal health and hormonal wise, find your peace with it. take a look around you, we are all shaped differently, and you are obvious on the generally slender side1 -

I'm another one who thinks those thighs look not only normal but attractive. Are we that bad for liking your thighs?

It seems to me you may struggle with an eating disorder and body image issues. Please get professional help.10

I know how hard it is to see ourselves truly. Your mind is playing tricks on you. You are underweight, which is very dangerous. It is more dangerous than being overweight because there is real and immediate damage happening inside your body right now that you can't see with your eyes. Your risk of death is almost doubled compared to an individual at a healthy weight.
Please read this resource: Eating Disorder Resources (MyFitnessPal)4 -
I agree that this is a bit of body dismorphia. Thighs flatten out like that when they are resting flat on something. I have smallish legs. My thighs are 19" and they look like that maybe even bigger than that when sitting.3

OP how old are you?1

No, of course not. I guess it's just not what I wanted to hear.tiptoethruthetulips wrote: »OP how old are you?

I think your thighs look great!
Can you post a picture of what they look like when you're not sitting/lying down? I think that's part of your problem here. Everyone's thighs look larger when they're not standing up.

Your thighs are not large, they are squished. I agree that it appears you have an eating disorder and body dismorphia and that you need help.
I wish you all the best in the world.0 -

It's very normal for your thighs to be thicker when you are sitting and thinner while standing, and no, it doesn't mean they have a lot of fat. Muscle is quite floppy, too, when it's not actively contracting.5 -
Even people with nicely built legs have that kind of flattening out.1
-
I agree they look fine.
Don't forget, although you might think other people's thighs look smaller, you don't view their legs from that angle.1 -

That is what thigh muscle looks like when a person is sitting vs lifting their leg or standing. It is not an indication of fat.3 -
Your thighs are not fat. Not a professional here.. but you may be overly obsessed with weightless. Being so young.. it is a slippery slope where you could end up with an eating disorder.2
-
They are thigh shaped!
Of you're fretting about lack of thigh gap, then we're not all built that way. Even as a skinny teen who walked everywhere, I never had one.2 -
Everyone's thighs do that when they sit down. Other people don't notice it like you do. Relax and look at yourself in a mirror standing up. That's how people see you. When you are sitting they will mostly notice your face, eyes, and smile. You don't have big thighs, BTW.1
