I have been getting more serious lately into the science behind weight loss (BMR, Harris Benedict Calculation, etc) and I've been experimenting with carb cycling from a bodybuilding website. I have to say that the first few days of <30g of carbs per day leaves me quite moody, but I have had some success with it the last two weeks. Has anyone else done this type of cycling? Any success/horror stories? Thanks!

I am currently doing this. Low days are below 100 grams. Moderate below 200 grams. High days are anything above 200 grams. I also have been getting great results for the last 2.5 weeks.

How you play with those numbers is totally up to you. If I am sluggish after a lowish carb day I usually carb up the next day.

With all of this being said you still need to be in a deficit.

    Good luck.

Interesting. My low days are <45g carbs and highs in the 200g+. Staying with a deficit for sure.

How long have you been doing this? Have you found it is sustainable for a longer period of time? The comments on the boards I was seemed to talk about this as more of a short-term cutting method.

Have you found it is sustainable for a longer period of time? It should be if you are eating enough to sustain your workouts/bodyweight. As I said if I feel sluggish I usually eat a little more carbs the next day.

I am doing this for the next 2-3 months.

I've run this route as well... for me, it all came out in the wash and I went back to a carb standard every day instead of low/high/medium days. The fat loss continued unabated.
