scared of the bathing suit

I have lost 12 pounds since I started this journey. I'm back to a size 8 & it's relatively loose.

But this weekend I'm leaving for vacation where people will want to photograph me in a bathing suit & I'm dreading it.

What do you do about the bathing suit? It's a tankini, 2 piece that covers my stomach (my problem area where I carry all my weight) but still. . . . shudders

Who will be taking your picture in a bathing suit?

My advice would be to tell yourself that you are doing great and look great and not to worry about what other people see or think because they are mostly looking at/thinking about themselves.

But I also would not want my picture taken in a bathing suit and in practice, I avoid wearing a bathing suit by only going swimming every 2-3 years and only when on vacation, far away from anybody I know other than my husband/daughter.

I took a bathing suit photo huge and pregnant and posted it. Something I would never normally do.

I would have no problem having a pregnant picture taken/posted.

I go to a nudist beach - problem solved.
  • Get a bathing suit cover up of some sort. A sarong is stylish and covers the parts you likely are not comfortable with.

If you haven't worn a swim suit in a while, put it on and wear it around the house for the next few nights. It is amazing how ones confidence rises as one gets use to seeing oneself. Honest!

A nice floaty wrap or crocheted/lacy overdress for walking around in is always nice to have.

A big smile and a confident posture works wonders in photos.

Practice poses in front of the mirror. Everyone has a better angle- mine is straight on as I'm all tummy, others are better 3/4 turn or slight upper or lower twist with one leg in front of the other.

The best pics are the ones having fun.

    Cheers, h.

What makes a person wearing a swimsuit attractive? A big smile. Someone laughing, smiling and having a good time looks a million times better than someone posing and worrying about how they look in photos. Concentrate on what you are doing rather than how you look.

You will be fine. I wear a bikini and my belly isn't flat
No one cares, have heard no one laugh or seen anyone stare at me. Everyone too busy enjoying themselves so that's what I do
Just relax and be proud of yourself you have done well
    Enjoy
