Gap between eating and working out

Hi,

I get up around 7am and have my breakfast within the first 5 mins. I have to have breakfast in the morning. I have tried a few times to work out first and then eat afterwards but I actually think it affects my blood sugars because I get shaky and quite weak but maybe I just need to keep practicing. I would prefer to workout first and then eat but I eat at 7 then do my 30ds at 8 and I can do it no probs even after an hour gap.

I guess my question for any personal trainers out there. Would you advise that people always workout before they eat?

If you would like answers from non personal trainers, please see below. Otherwise disregard.

I would recommend that everyone base their meal timing off of the following parameters:

    1) Personal preference
    2) Gym performance
    3) Lifestyle

So in other words, find out what works best according to the above. I very much doubt that you will see a big difference in fat loss strictly through nutrient timing methods for reasons outside of the above list.

I agree with SideSteal. Figure out what works best for you and stick with that. For me, I eat half my breakfast before and half after if I work out in the morning. If I eat nothing, I get shaky and dizzy. If I eat my whole breakfast, I get nauseous. If eating at 7 and working out at 8 works for your body and your schedule, then that's what I would suggest.

Thanks for the reply guys. Eating half probably wouldn't work for me as I either eat oatmeal or cereal so it probably wouldn't last that well but its a good idea.

    Thanks :)
