Two Days a Week?

As of right now, myself and a co worker are planning on making two visits a week to the gym for at least an hour. Start with light cardio, strength training and finish with harder cardio.

I wanna know if this will still be conducive to weight loss and getting in better shape? Once our schedules pan out in November we plan on adding a third day but for right now, only two nights a week work for us. Will this still be enough?

It's more than enough to lose weight and improve your fitness (vs being a couch potato), and it's more than most people probably do. You don't have to exercise at all to lose weight. Still should, of course.

I do agree if you are going from 0 days to 2 days, that's plenty. While this will enhance weight loss a bit, what does enough mean? What are you wanting to get out these two days? Any gym goals?

Enough for what? What are your goals?

My goals are to lose weight and start running. In November, I plan on starting the C25K at the gym; since we'll be doing three sessions a week, that'll fit in nicely with the program. But for October, it's just two days a week for an hour session. I want to lose weight and get back into my army weight scale (maybe not necessarily army shape cuz I know I won't be working out that strictly) but I do have at least 60 lbs to go. I've lost 20 so far and have become stagnant.

I follow the calorie counts for each day, even though I was lenient for a couple months and just stayed at the same weight. But yes, weight loss and slimming down and getting stronger and finally being able to run again. Those are my goals.
