Running elevation.

I've been signed up to do a 5k, not much for some but running is my nemesis. I've just looked and it's a hilly run. Elevations up to 180m...I'm doing running practice buy have no way of knowing how high any incline I might find while I am out are. If I do some inclines on the treadmill what gradient should I be aiming for? Roughly? I'm totally lost

Why don't you just run the course before hand? Running outside is the best way to prep for a race.

Definitely try and get some out door running in before the race, it's not the same as a treadmill

If you have a smart phone (iphone or Android), apps like Runkeeper or Mapmyrun, will be able to tell you the elevation gain of the hills that you are currently running.
