Hello. I've been on MFP before, but got side-tracked in early 2015 after a health problem came up and I had an unexpected, major surgery. It's taken me the last year and a half to get back to functional enough that I can continue.

I'm back at it again now and looking for friends. I would like to lose 60# total, just shy of 10# down right now.

About me:

I'm 42, mom of a 6-yr-old daughter, married, live in the rural mountains of Vermont. I'm irreverent, I swear sometimes, if I lose ALL the weight I want to get a big tattoo (full sleeve?). I run an afterschool program at my daughter's school right now, mostly for scheduling ease, but I've worked as a biologist, naturalist, built wind farms, been a park ranger, sled dog driver, lived on an income-sharing commune, taught experiential education, been an outdoor guide, etc. I have an undergrad degree in environmental biology, an MBA and a master's focused on systems sustainability, but I'm not super career-focused. Love to travel off the beaten path but haven't done much since my girl was born. I don't have a gym nearby so I need to rely on what I have around me and the great outdoors. I want to be strong and have energy and be a fun, involved mom. I hike, snowshoe, scuba dive, cross-country ski and like to dance (poorly). I'd like to get more into cycling, climbing (mountains/cliffs/big trees), swimming, distance hiking, and ??? I'm a non-judgy vegetarian (lifelong), crazy cat lady, localvore, tree hugger, lover of all things zombie apocalypse, and firm believer in social democracy (Bernie constitiuent and supporter for the last 20 years). I have an inappropriate sense of humor. Spiritual but not religious. Feminist on my own terms. My mantras:

Matter Follows Vision
Live and Let Live

Looking for friends of any age, race or gender who are upbeat and positive. Able to laugh. Low drama. Kind. Adventurous. Unapologetically yourself. Outdoorsy. Outside of the box. You don't have to be anything like me for me to like, respect and support you. Have to lose this weight, but it can be work or it can be fun. I choose fun. Would love other friends who choose fun too!

Hi, I'm in Maryland, but a big Bernie fan, and trying to lose weight again, after having lost it a few years ago. Also, want to get outside more and trying to do my part for the environment. I thought it would be fun to be in a weight-loss support group that also shared some political/social issues interests, so did a search for Bernie, and you came up. Been using mfp for the last several weeks religiously (but I'm not religious either) and it really helps. Have done weight watchers for years, but not happy with the new points system, so doing my fitness pal instead.

Hello! I live in southern West Virginia on a small farm where my husband and I are raising 4 children from college down to elementary school. He drives a truck at night and I'm a stay at home mom. I'm 35 years old. I started my journey in March and I've lost 62lbs so far... 38 more to reach my goal of 150. Some days I struggle.. others I'm on fire... add me if you like :)

Hi! Nice introduction, and good to hear that you're getting back on track! So le'ts say: Be strong! (good luck sounds strange when loosing weight imo:))

I'm just starting on my journey in order to loose some weight; 30 lbs of lard need to go. Just 2.8lbs lost so far. Goal, to go lounge on a tropical beach in march 2017 without feeling too awkward regarding excess rolls ;-). Add me if you like as well.

Welcome back and Good Luck on the weight loss journey!

I'm also a non-judgy vegetarian :) , do lots of running but would also like to get into cycling and climbing too. These are on my to-do-list, swimming would be nice but unfortunately I just sink, haha
