I was very fit and healthy many years ago. Have slowly stacked on weight and become unfit over the last 15 or so years. Now I am training for my first sprint triathlon later this year. I think a few things kicked me into gear. First one was stopping drinking in 2015; I wanted to be sober by 50. After 18 months sober, I bought myself a new road bike as a (late) reward. Which kicked started my cycling. Now I train most days, alternating between swimming, running, cycling, and some gym work. And would you believe it; all the training has helped my joints. I now have less aches and pains.
