    I think she is blaming society more than anything. I don't feel bad for her mother one bit, she has the right to talk about her experiences in life whether it was good or bad. She even said it wasn't really her mothers fault because she was raised that way too. Because of those experiences, she has great wisdom to share with others and the next generation of women. I find it interesting you chose to focus on that point rather than get the super impactful one of self worth.

    Lets get back to the real point of this video.

    Its about accepting yourself as you are, not bending to pressure of society to be their version of "pretty", not basing your self worth on how many people want to have sex with you, how we need to focus on joy and substance rather than a facade. How young girls are so focused on "will I be pretty" instead of intelligence, creativeness and happiness.
