Eating issues

Here's the deal. I like eating out. Man can I rack up some calories fast when I do. The rest of the time, I'm mostly never hungry. I could easily survive days eating a few snack crackers or granola bars a day. I know getting consistent nutritious meals is better yet I'm finding I can't seem to accomplish this feat. Any tips or tricks?

    Try making copycat healthier versions of your favourite take out at home...I did that with chipotle, I can make a gigantic chicken fajitas bowl with a third less calories and half the salt and I love it just as much.

    I'm with ogtmama. Additionally, you can do a couple hours of cooking on the weekend and have quick-fix meals for the entire week if it's just that you don't like the cooking and cleanup during your workweek.

    Plan your meals and buy what you need to prepare them.

    Meal Prep Sunday has been a huge help to stop eating out. Use laziness in your favor!

    Thank you all very much for the tips. I'm going to look into implementing these ideas. I just grilled chicken, cut it up, and made salads for work for the next 3 nights. They are mixed and sealed in Tupperware now :) I think I'm liking this meal prep day. I'm going to google the fasting thing, since I fast unintentionally as it is.

    Meal prep. It can be a pain, especially if you don't like cooking, but it makes it fairly convenient to eat at home - reheat and serve. For me, watching my macros has been helpful in making sure I eat balanced every day or as near to every day as I can manage.

    I used to love eating out, but then learned to cook a lot of foods myself. Now, I don't care much about eating out except on special occasions.

    Meal timing doesn't actually matter that much for weight loss. I mean if you eat more regularly throughout the day you might feel better because your blood sugar will be more uniform and not a spike and then a crash but really there is nothing inheriently wrong with having a huge meal in one sitting and then just kind of snacking other times of the day unless you are goingj over your calories.

    If that type of eating does have you going over your calories then prepping meals in advance and having them with you in like tupperware can help.

    If you do eat out, try looking up the menu ahead of time online (when you're not starving) and make a healthy choice. Then stick to it when you actually order. But meal planning and cooling at home is great too. It also saves $$.
