Do you ever feel different?
I have lost almost 50lbs. I still have a long way to go and maybe that is why I don't but I thought that by now I would feel a bit better with how I look. I look in the mirror, I still feel I look the same. I know I have gone down 2 sizes since I started but I just don't feel the way I thought I would by now. I'm def not going to quit or anything. I still try my hardest every day. I just wondered if anyone else went through the same thing at some point.

I saw a saying somewhere that we don't lose the weight... We get rid if it - as we have NO intention of finding it or getting it backLol!!
Anyway... I've had my extra weight for almost 20 years. I lost 110 pounds in a little over a year. No, I still feel big. I'm not yet at my goal, but getting there. Maybe one day my mind will catch up. I hope so. You would think so with the amount of daily compliments I receive, however I'm stubborn and thick headed.
Sorry I'm not much help.0 -
I don't see the way I look now in the mirror, I have to see a picture of myself. When I look in the mirror, especially the full length one in my bedroom, I still see the old me. But then I see a picture and I barely recognize myself. You're head will catch up to your new body, it's just going to take some time0

I went through the same thing at about 50 pounds lost but kept going and started to see a difference the further I went,I am now at my goal weight and am happy that I kept on going and didn't get discouraged ,Just keep at it and you will start to notice your changes, other people noticed and commented on me before I did,,keep up the good work,it's worth it in the end0

I've been down about 50 and have since added 5 or so intentionally the slow way. When I look in the mirror I definitely see the difference but I am still highly critical of myself. I don't see the massive change in my body, well I do but I focus more on what I still don't like. I can see my abs but all I think about when I see them is cutting a couple percent more body fat to get rid of that squishy layer on top of them.
Photos of me look great, I mean I am happy and my wife says I look good, and I am by no means ignorant of how far I've come but I think doing this made me MORE self critical.
A lot of people end up with body dysmorphia like symptoms, I think it is pretty common for people who start with a fairly negative self image and may have had dysmorphia to start with.
In my case I am able to stifle it for now and after I put a few more pounds of muscle on I will cut down some more fat to get into the 10% or so target range I want to hit and maintain.
Take and keep measurements, I'm a nerd so I use the TDEE spreadsheet. You don't see the changes in our body as easily when you see yourself every day. But take photos every two weeks and measurements every month and you will be amazed at the changes you will start to see.0 -
Do you take progress shots? Have you got a before picture and a current one? A lot of people don't see the difference in the mirror but they can in pictures. If you haven't done it, do it.0

Your mind needs time to catch up with your new size. At first I used to try on huge things when I went shopping because that's how I still saw myself. Now it's all good0

I feel different. When I look at myself in the mirror I can clearly tell the difference, however I still feel fat. But I still have at least 15 lbs to lose to be in the normal BMI range. People tell me I look good though... I can tell that I look better, but I'm not quite at 'good' yet.
And I fit in size 8/10 stuff, which is odd to me, because when I look at the clothes I just can't imagine that I actually fit in them.0
