Crunchy! Or just a corn tortilla, still soft but not flour.

I love crispy beef tacos, but any other kind (fish/carnitas/fancy shmancy) I prefer soft.

"real" tacos...as in traditional Mexican tacos are soft corn tortillas...living in NM, I much prefer the traditional Mexican taco and that's primarily what you'll find here unless you're going to a fast food joint.

The hard taco shell is 100% American bastardization of something awesome. The hard taco was invented by Glen Bell, the founder of Taco Bell. These became so popular that Tex-Mex chains and the like started making them.

Hard taco shells split open and spill the filling everywhere. So, soft are better.
