I've been telling them that all day, but no one listens to me. Buncha stubborn bahstads

It takes a different mentality to live down here, Laura. I happen to be in the Panhandle on the Gulf out of harms way... but I imagine if I were over there, I would be at a Hurricane party right now. Like I said, different mentality. But I personally appreciate the concern you and others have shown. Thank you!

My oldest daughter (19) is riding it out about half way between Ft Pierce and Port St Lucie...

I'm thinking of you and yours during this time. Stay strong!

Thanks! I'm watching it on TV up in Michigan, with occasional check-ins and snaps from her.

Tell her to keep it up! :)

I'm definitely keeping safe. The positive side to all of this is that my campus is closed. So many dodged bullets. :)

@GnothiSeauton23 especially you. Are you in Florida too?

Yes I am west of Orlando. So no where near as bad as some of the others on the coast.

I've been watching the radar. It ain't no picnic there either... be safe.

That looks a lot better than it was. The eye moved further out to sea.

I live north of Orlando....right now 60 mph winds and plenty of rain....It's worse on the coast and for folks in mobile homes. But for me, right now....no problem..The worst part is that I can't get my dog out to pee. I probably will have some torn pool screens....

It's passed us now. The eye stayed well out in the sea, so we've lost power but didn't get the worst of it :D

I'm in South Florida (Palm Beach County) and we missed the brunt of the storm. Just minor wind gusts and squalls. North of us, around Vero Beach and further up the coast got the worst of it. Hope you're all OK. Take care.
