I'm getting 35-45g of fibre daily unintentionally. I read somewhere than consuminh more than 40g isn't a good thing. Any truth to this? I feel absolutely fine and..ahem...empty and never bunged up or constipated

I consumed roughly 50 grams yesterday.... and i feel perfectly fine. I've eaten this way for over 5 years... if it's unhealthy I would think something would have happened at this point.

    *shrug*

I would assume as long as you aren't having gas, diarrhea, bloating, etc. you should be fine. :)

I regularly consume more than 40g of fibre a day and don't have any problems. Unless you personally have a medical condition that is exacerbated by eating a lot of fibre, you're fine!

As long as you're pooping is okay, keep eating what you're eating.

Not a problem. Any problem that will arise is down to the ratio of soluble to insoluble fiber in your food. Too much insoluble fiber, and your stuff passes through your gut so quickly as to not get actually digested, with nutrients not getting into your blood. Too much soluble fiber, and you get an immobile clog. You want insoluble to be from 1/3 to 1/2 of your total.
