What goal should I set?

I have my weekly goal set at 2 lbs a week. I am sedentary at work, but I work out 4X a week. Should I lower my weekly goal to 1.5 LBS a week and NOT eat back any workout calories? Or keep it at 2lbs and eat back workout calories? I need to lose about 125lbs to reach my goal. Thanks!

The way MFP is set up you eat your exercise calories back. Stick with 2 pounds per week unless you start feeling hungrier, then lower your deficit.

It really depends on where you're starting from.
If you're morbidly obese (30%+ bodyfat) then 2lbs a week should absolutely be doable. I keep to a pretty consistent -500/day deficit (and I don't even attempt to factor in activity), and still don't always have -1lb/week loss. I figure i'm right around, or just under 20%BF.

Weight loss is very non linear, and I'm a particularly "spurty" person.

Most people can manage .5-1lb/week loss without much of an issue. Larger people can manage larger numbers for a while because they have more to lose.
