Anyone seen that? 3 day diet to lose 10 lbs. Anyone evee tried it? Did you feel ill? I've looked at this and it looks quite off putting and brutal.

Crash diets don't work, end of.6

The ONLY way to lose that much in three days is through water loss -- which will come right back. There is no official "military diet."2

This diet has been around for decades. Several name changes (has nothing to do with the military). It's not the weird food combinations (that's nonsense)....it's the very low calories.
10 pounds in 3 days is a total crock. 10 x 3500 = 35,000 calories. That's a 11,666 calorie deficit each day.
You lose weight when you eat fewer calories than maintenance (period). You can lose weight by eating foods you like too. Just watch your portions. Logging everything here is a great learning tool.
Fad diets don't teach anything.3 -
I've heard of this horrible waste of time. I've even seen people attempt it and it isn't worth the pain as you get nothing out of it... most people end up back where they were or worse off, continuing unhealthy habits and thus don't reach their goals.
If you want to lose weight but don't care if it's water, muscle or fat all while killing your body and starving yourself of needed nutrients, with a high chance of gaining it all back and more, then the Military diet is for you.
If you want to lose weight and be healthy, look good and keep it off, don't do silly things like that.
I did a low calorie nightmare awhile back and I now have anemia which I've had for over a year since my little stunt. Iron transfusions are not fun nor cheap.0 -
This diet is a complete joke. Very low calorie and zero nutrition. Saltines, ice cream and hot dogs? Pretty sure someone's toddler made up this diet, they posted it as a joke and now people are actually thinking it's a good diet plan. Just No.0

It looks nasty and ridiculous, and the claim that there's anything special about the food combinations is totally made up (like the name).
My advice to anyone interested in trying it: You lose because of the low calories, and if you stop after 3 days you gain it back. If the idea of dieting only 3 days a week is appealing, look into a sensible way to do it (that allows for more enjoyable and varied food choices) like 5:2 or the alternate day diet -- both forms of intermittent fasting.0 -
I've done it in the past. Starved for three days, lost some pounds (maybe close to 5, but definitely never 10) gained it all back on day 4.0
