Lifting For Women - Any Tips ?

I'm a newbie to the whole lifting weights thing . To date , i've lost 46 lbs and weigh 183 lbs . Any tips/ pointers from women who started lifting to lose weight . I brought the 20kg dumbells (york) yesterday , put 1.26 on each and that seems good enough for me , hopefully i can work my way up to 20 kg . I am combining this with boxing / zumba and hiit .

    1. Buy "the new rules of lifting for women".
    2. Lift heavy, short reps
    3. Eat.
    4. Lifting is the same for men and women. If someone tries to tell you that you need to lift differently to men (because you want to "tone" rather than "bulk") is talking BS.
    5. Listen to your body.
