Fitbit calorie adjustment

Can anybody explain how the fitbit calorie adjustment works? I'm confused about that. Following a medium intensity 40 min cardio/ strength training work out it adjusted with 59 calories, but when I look at my fitbit app it says I've burned way more calories.

Fitbit is showing what you've burned all day, not just for exercising. When you sync your Fitbit, MFP reads how many calories you've burned up to that point and estimates that if you stay moving as much as you have up to that point, you'll burn 59 more calories than what they believe are your maintenance calories. If you move more before the next time it syncs, your exercise calories will increase. Move less, they'll decrease and possibly drop into negative territory if you have negative adjustments enabled (which means you won't be burning your maintenance calories, so MFP wants to ensure you don't overeat).0

I have a fit bit charge HR. You can push the button on the side of it in and hold for a couple seconds and it will put the watch in workout mode. When you are done with your workout hold the button in again, it will end workout mode. It gives you steps, calories burned and average heart rate specifically for that time. My fitness pal will count that separately as exercise.0

Myfitness pal syncs with fitbit to project how many calories you will burn over the course of the day and subtracts calories based on your goals. For example, if you go for a run early in the morning, myfitnesspal will project a very high calorie burn for the day. But if you run, and do nothing else the rest of the day, your calorie burn projection will decrease.0
