Body fat?

My fitbit scale is off by 5-6% higher than what my body fat actually is. There are vitamin/supplement stores in my area that have InBody analysis machines. They are free to go in and use that machine. The print out is pretty neat and gives you the breakdown of skeletal muscle mass and body fat %, as well as how many pounds of muscle in each limb. It also determines your BMR so you know how many calories you are burning a day just existing, taking into account your lean muscle mass. You use a code and then you can track your progression. It was neat to see because I am burning more calories NOW at a smaller size than I was a year ago when I weighed more. But my muscle mass has increased so much and body fat % has gone down. I'm burning more calories a day just existing because of the muscle. I have actually gained a few pounds, but muscle only which is what I wanted.
If you can find a place to do the InBody, I highly recommend. I have other friends who have done and it gets really motivating. Sometimes their weight has only gone down a few pounds, but when they do the InBody, they see they have dropped over 10% body fat and that their muscle mass has gone up.
My fitbit scale has me so much higher than the InBody and the calipers they used at my gym. I don't think those scales are very accurate.0
