Question for those who record/track weightlifting

I've been wondering something... I track my weightlifting sessions using the Jefit app. I love it and highly recommend to anyone searching for a good, free tracking app.
Anyway, if you're logging an exercise where you use dumbbells (press, lateral raises, whatever), do you log the total weight (of both dumbbells) or the weight of the individual dumbbell?
I know it doesn't really matter as long as I'm consistent, but I was just wondering if there's an unwritten rule or standard.

I log the combined weight of the dumbbells and then the reps. I like to calculate total weight lifted so that is the easiest way.0
