So I wanted to incorporate some fish into my diet. The problem is that I have an allergy to fin fish. So I thought I'd go for shellfish, which I can eat safely. But if I eat too much the smell starts to get to me and my stomach starts to protest. Is there anything I can do?

Don't eat so much shell fish. I know, that sounds snide but there are many other foods that will provide similar nutrition. Is it the Omega 3s you are looking for or something else?

It's not worth it dude! There's other foods that will benefit you as much without gagging you. Besides shell fish are soooo gross.

You could add strong seasonings or smother with sauces or something like that. But if you don't like eating much of it I'd suggest just not eating much of it.

What is the reason exactly for wanting to incorporate shellfish? I ask because maybe there is an alternative source for specifiction nutrients besides shellfish. No sense making yourself feel icky if there is a better way!

Sounds like you are developing an intolerance ..back off the shellfish

I love shellfish ...prawns and lobster are my favourite...can't eat them any more because I ate too much and now I get an immediate nausea reaction, pretty sure it's psychosomatic rather than true allergy but it's unpleasant enough to deprive me

just a note . . . i don't know if shellfish even is a nutritional equivalent/replacement for fish-fish. so maybe you don't even need to do it.

not a nutritionist, but i know i would love to do that. pretty sure that i looked up the basic stats on some kind of shellfish or other and had to give up the idea. some friend of mine on cholesterol watch tipped me off, iirc.

clams are insane with iron though :p surprise of my life, but that's nice. and as someone who can't deal with fin-fish either: i'm okay with canned sardines and salmon for some reason. and rollmops, love those. rather eat a jar of rollmops than a bowl of potato chips.
