I absolutely wouldn't hesitate to get to a healthy bmi. I am now a slightly lower weight than I was when I graduated high school, and still want to go lower. I am 5'6" and have a larger frame. I originally wanted to get to 145, but at 148 it is obvious that I can go lower. The good news is you don't have to decide now, your goal can change whenever you want it to!

The only way to know for sure is to get down to your higher possible goal weight and see how it feels and how you look. Their are so many variables that play into appetite, preferences, activity level, energy level etc that can fluctuate throughout your life!

I think it would be impossible for me to get to my high school weight because I grew two inches after I graduated!

I'm 5'6". I was about 56.7 kg as a teenager in high school.

Briefly after high school I gained a bit of weight, then lost it again, within that year, and maintained between 53.5 and 56.7 kg for years and years.

More recently I gained again, for just a few years, and then I joined MFP and lost it. At first I was aiming for a 15 kg loss which would put me at the top end of my normal BMI range, but then I decided to keep going. I've been maintaining between 56 kg and 58 kg for about a year now. That's pretty close to what I was as a teenager. :)

In fact, tonight I wore dress pants I bought when I was 19 or 20 years old. They're back in style again.
