Gaining after long run

Hi :-)
I ran my first half marathon on Sunday and the scales are showing loads heavier even though I still kept my food within cals and obv burnt a load off.
I'm almost certain it's water retention as my feet and legs are swollen. Does anyone know how long it usually takes for it to get back to normal and what's the best thing to do to aid it?
Thanks :-)

Just drink lots. If I have a large retention of water it usually whooshes off over a week. But it's dependent on other exercise and what water retention that might cause. I just bounce around within a few pounds generally.0

Usually a week--drink lots of water.
I usually try to treat myself to a massage a day or two after a half.0 -
Me too - I ran a half on Sunday and am bloated. It was warm and humid so that also makes me retain water. Congrats on your half! it'll go away in a few days
